Tour Details
We travel by vehicle to Paltay and then continue uphill to Pashpa, a journey of approximately one hour.
From Pashpa, we enjoy panoramic views of an impressive group of 6,000-meter peaks, including Chopicalqui at 6,350 m.a.s.l., Huascarán North and South at 6,768 m.a.s.l., and the Hualcán massif at 6,121 m.a.s.l.
Other prominent peaks include Copa at 6,180 m.a.s.l., Paccharuri at 5,800 m.a.s.l., and the Urus range, with ridges rising above 5,500 m.a.s.l. To the south, the landscape is dominated by Ocshapalca at 5,800 m.a.s.l. and Vallunaraju.
The trail begins with a gradual ascent toward the Ishinca Valley. After approximately one hour, we take a trail junction toward the Uruscocha Valley. The route continues through scattered groves of native queñual trees (Polylepis), followed by a final ascent leading to the first Uruscocha Lake.
We return to the vehicle along the same trail and then drive back down to the valley.

- Private transportation to Pashpa Valley: Departure from Carhuaz at 5:00 a.m., with return at approximately 2:00–3:00 p.m.
- COVID-19 trekking protocols and required documentation.
- IGV (Peruvian VAT).
- 1 liter of bottled water.
- Personal trekking equipment: 20–25-liter backpack, windbreaker jacket, fleece jacket, hat/beanie, gloves, mountain sunglasses with UV protection, trekking poles, and trekking shoes/boots. SPF 50 sunscreen.
- COVID-19 kit: alcohol-based hand sanitizer, wet wipes, 2 face masks, and a small trash bag.
